Mississippi to Florida

We left New Orleans for sunny Biloxi, Mississippi - HA!  We got to see nothing of the Biloxi area due to rain, rain, and five more days of rain.  However, Heinz did spend the week in the wood hobby shop on Keesler AFB and made me some great sliding drawers to organize my spices.  I think he did it out of self-defense.  He couldn't find the salt and pepper and I refused to downsize the number of spice bottles I need for cooking!

Finally, even Heinz can find the right spice quickly!

While he was at it he also built dividers into my kitchen utensil drawers...once again out of self-defense I'm sure.  He did nothing but moan and groan every time it was his turn to cook.  If you know ANYTHING about Germans, you know this makes complete sense for him to do this!

Ah, the beauty of organization for a German!

We've since moved on to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.  The plan was to stay at the FamCamp on Eglin Air Force Base, check out the white sand beaches, and spend some time with some friends of ours.  Unfortunately, Heinz brought something home back in Biloxi and drove with it, and a 103.3 fever to Ft. Walton Beach.  And best of all... he gave it to me!  Though the weather has been pretty, warm and sunny, we've both been sick the entire week.  Between the coughs, headaches, fevers, and the endless hours of sleeping, we haven't seen much of THIS area either.  Tomorrow we plan on ending our self-imposed quarantine to get together with our friends stationed in the area.

The plan for Sunday is to pack up again, head eastward to Apalachicola, Fl (on Florida's Forgotten Coast), and enjoy some off-the-beaten-path adventures and locally-caught seafood, before we break south on the Gulf Coast side of Florida toward Tampa/St. Petersburg and points beyond.

At least THAT IS THE PLAN..... :)
